Of course, I’m talking about the girl who got stuck in a window whilst trying to dispose of a poo that wouldn’t flush…whilst on a first date…in her date’s bathroom. Panic stations!
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and this week we’re celebrating one girl who recently hit the headlines for her very brave and courageous bikini snaps.
Heather Grant is a 23-year-old girl who also happens to suffer from Chrons – the sister illness of UC (which I have). The sales assistant from Merseyside underwent life changing surgery in order to correct a complication caused by her illness and woke up with a colostomy bag, but instead of waking up and despising this new addition she thanked it for saving her life – and has vowed to display it proudly on the beach this summer.
This week’s Friday Hero is someone who feels like a friend even though I’ve never met her, someone I could easily sink a couple of bottles of prosecco with, and put the world to rights over a pizza. Dawn O’Porter is a Scottish-born TV presenter, writer, mother and wife (to the lovely Chris O’Dowd) who has worked hard to put body image, confidence and society’s pressure for perfection into the spotlight.
This week’s #FridayHero is Jennifer Lawrence, and I’m sure I’m not alone in positioning her as such – but there’s nothing wrong with a bit of hero-worshiping (if it’s for the right reasons).
I COULD say she’s a hero because she’s incredibly beautiful and even manages to retain some class whilst doing this….
I’m not ashamed to be a huge Harry Potter fan, I bought the whole thing, hook line and sinker. Perhaps because I like the idea of there being more to life than meets the muggle-eye; a layer of existence buzzing and bubbling under the surface, just as it does in Diagon Alley. Who wouldn’t want to believe in that? Who wouldn’t want to believe in magic?
